It is personally a thrill for me, that even though I'm not actually working at EggStory Creative Productions, but to know that all this is happening at the offices up above me, it's like living in a village residing near some top secret weapons production base. You can call it Animal-trix Reloaded.

Homegrown digital animator Nickson Fong is paying tribute to his Hollywood roots by modelling teaser illustrations for his first animated movie after those from the Matrix sequels.

Prior to returning to Singapore in 2003, he had worked on the digital effects of both blockbuster films with effects company ESC Entertainment.

His movie, tentatively titled Kungfu Gecko, follows a young gecko and his friends who are embroiled in a battle to save their kingdom.

Each teaser artwork reveals the body design of the major characters - the gecko, frog and praying mantis - without showing the character's face.

Teaser posters for the Matrix sequels revealed its new characters in a similar way.

In an exclusive peek for Life! to coincide with the launch of his company Egg Story Creative Production's website today, Fong, 35, also unveiled several posters and texture paintings.

They present a unique airbrush quality for the US$30 million (S$50 million) budgeted flick, which is slated for a summer 2008 release. The comapny is now raising money through several overseas investors.

Work on the eight-minutes trailer is almost complete. It will make its official premiere at next week's American Film Market (AFM) trade show in Santa Monica, California.

"Making the movie has been an amazing journey," says Fong, who flies off to the event next Tuesday, which also happens to be his birthday.

Aside from the animated film, Fong, through Egg Story, has also worked his digital magic on several local TV advertisments, including the one for the Republic of Singapore Navy where he makes a missile gunship transform into a robot.

It's relatively recent, no idea if anyone's taken the job up.

I'm quite... stumped by what people will do these days but anyway... For all you nostlagic 80s cartoon lovers... Transformers returns with its LIVE-ACTION MOVIE in 07-04-2007... LEARN MORE HERE I can't tell if having Steven Speilberg on board is a good or bad thing, but least they dun have to worry about funding...

Sure, everything the japanese soldiers did were atrocious and sadistic, and prbly all true. But why deny everything when its all backed by evidence? Prbly because japan doesnt want to look over the fact that the americans commited their own act of "injustice".

Yes the 2 atomic bombs stopped the war. It prevented "more people from dying" in an extended war. But america didnt have to drop the bombs. Japan already wanted to surrender. They even stated that if they surrendered, all they wanted was for the emperor to stay in power. America did not accept the request, proceeded to drop the bombs, japan surrendered, and the emperor STILL stayed in power after that. All that prbly to test the bombs and scare the russians and tell the world "Don't mess with us".

I'm not saying that what japan did during the war wasnt wrong. Its just that History is written by the Winners. we shldnt overlook the fact that america killed thousands, maybe needlessly, in a blink of an eye.


anyway on a lighter note.. Final Fantasy: Advent Children is AWESOME. plot is so-so but the eye candy and action scenes are fantastic. Dont really follow FF but Vincent Valentine is pretty kewl =P
